1939 Cat R4 with LeTourneau cable dozer

Unrestored original. This is a gasoline engine tractor similar to the diesel D-4 tractor. Caterpillar was focusing on every aspect of the market ... you could have a gas or diesel engine in practically any size you wanted. This tractor was used in the Carson Valley area of Nevada to build a 10-mile road and remove snow on the road in the winter. The holes are cut in the tract plates to allow the snow to go through and not pack in between the tracks and sprockets or rollers. "CATERPILLER" raised lettering still visible on track shoes!

This tractor went to a contractor east of Reno, Nevada.
