This model tractor was first produced in 1909. This type of tractor was used for freighting supplies in the construction of the Los Angeles Aquaduct in the Mojave Desert. It was also used for all types of heavy pulling in logging, mining and agriculture.
This particular tractor was purchased new for the Milton French ranch in Willows, California in 1917, where it was used until 1919. When it was replaced by a Best sixty, the Holt 75 was returned to the barn. There it sat until 1945 when it was purchased by Paul Stormer of Willows returning from World War II.
Mr. Stormer used the tractor on his ranch in Willows for approximately ten years, after which it was operated periodically.
This tractor was used very little because it wouldn't run very long. STL TIKN found that the original fuel cap had not been drilled for venting. The fuel pump would pull a vacumm in the fuel tank and the engine would stop. When the previous owner would check the fuel tank level, the vacumm would be released and the engine would run again. STL TIKN drilled a vent hole in the fuel cap and the tractor will run as long as you want.
The Holt 75 was purchased by STL TIKN in 1996. Don is it's third owner.
